Dr. Howells is a gender and culture-affirming Licensed Clinical Psychologist, whose focus is on working with adults to overcome internal barriers that prevent them from enjoying life, while recognizing their strengths and the uniqueness of the approach that is necessary for change. His style is a balance of warmth and directness designed to rapidly reach treatment goals without the care itself being overwhelming. In addition, he has a strong background in completing psychological evaluations (non-forensic/custody) for the purpose of diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations.

Subsequently, he worked as an active duty psychologist, providing a variety of psychological services to military members and spouses, and serving in several different leadership roles.
