Dr. Howells provides individual psychotherapy to adults (age 18 or older) who struggle with a variety of psychological difficulties. Some of the problems and symptoms he treats include, but are not limited to: depression and other mood problems, anxiety, problems related to trauma (early life or adult) and/or posttraumatic stress, struggles with intimacy or other relationships, low self-esteem and self-confidence, problems with achievement, complicated grief, dissociation, and psychosis.
Beyond diagnoses and problems, though, he believes in a whole-person concept of treatment -- that our struggles and the patterns that cause us problems tell both the story of the emotional difficulties we have faced, and how we managed to make it through them. They also provide a map of the path out of our suffering. He understands we are more than a collection of chemicals and symptoms, we are people who need a guide to help us be free of our psychological and emotional difficulties. His approach is active, geared towards help you have a functional understanding of your difficulties, and working to provide you with the right conditions where change can take place.

Dr. Corpuz provides individual psychotherapy to children and adolescents (ages 13-24). She believes you do not have to go through your difficulties alone AND that you are capable of getting through this. Many of her patients think their feelings are too scary or their traumas are too painful to discuss. Many are afraid to be their true selves. Many have tried multiple therapists but felt like they “didn’t get anywhere”.
Dr. Corpuz has helped countless teens and young adults overcome their struggles with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, identity issues, trauma, and more. Empowering adolescents to be aware of the barriers that prevent them from leading the lives they want to lead and discovering ways to move beyond those challenges is my ultimate goal. By cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship, patients feel safe expressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that seem too overwhelming to say out loud. With this greater knowledge and acceptance of themselves, patients learn to respond adaptively instead of reactively.
